The Resurgence is a destination in its own right. Set in the delightful Riwaka Valley, in 20 hectares of bush, there are 3 km of walking tracks. You are surrounded by native birds and tranquility. There is no road noise and no other buildings in sight.

In the evening, soak up the Lodge atmosphere and experience the local cuisine with refined dining in a convivial atmosphere or self-cater and enjoy a peaceful evening accompanied by the sounds of nature.

Your hosts, Peter & Clare, will help you plan and book the best local activities. We can lend you maps or guide books & pack you a picnic if you are off for a hike. Having travelled widely ourselves, we know how the importance of free internet, wifi & cheap phone calls. We have a laundry service so you can enjoy your holiday while we look after the practicalities.

Our facilities include saltwater pool, spa pool,
gym plus yoga and massage therapy room.

Our environmental policy means that we do all we can to minimise our carbon footprint and make your stay guilt free.

directions from nelson & airport

Follow SH6 towards Richmond/Takaka/Collingwood. Keep straight-ahead bypassing Richmond town centre and turn right on SH60, the Appleby Highway, towards Motueka/Takaka/Collingwood. Pass through Motueka and then the small township of Riwaka and onwards past the two turnings on the right going to Abel Tasman National Park (Kaiteriteri & Marahau).

After a further 2km, at the foot of the Takaka Hill, take the small turning on the left down Riwaka Valley Road (sign-posted with a blue bed LODGE sign and a brown sign to Riwaka Resurgence & Kahurangi National Park). Follow this road straight-ahead (right/north branch) towards the source of the river for 5.7 kms until you see the sign for the lodge on the right (just after a deer farm and then the road narrows sign).

We are 50 minutes from Nelson airport and 15 minutes from Motueka.

arrival information

Check-in is between 4pm and 6pm. Please ring ahead if you wish to arrive significantly earlier or later so that we can make sure your room is clean and provisioned and that we are around to greet you.
If you are booked in for B&B only, please ring us at least 24 hours ahead to add dinner at the Lodge. You can pick up supplies in Motueka if you are self-catering.
If you have already booked dinner, aperitifs are at 7pm and dinner follows around 7:30pm. Please contact us if you dislike any common foods or have any food allergies to allow us to plan a menu of fresh local produce to suit everyone.
